The wik & walsøe porcelain

Are designed by Linda Svedal Walsøe and Ragnhild Wik. The further development and production are done together with experienced artisans in Bangladesh. Production in Bangladesh contributes to employment, development of skills and gives economic growth in one of the least developed countries in the world. The good cooperation with the factory, frequent visits and close following up is crucial for the quality.

The wik & walsøe porcelain collection consists of precious feldspar porcelain produced from pure natural materials and are lead-free. Genuine porcelain is characterized by its whiteness, beautiful shining glaze, transparency and pure sound. The porcelain is burnt at very high temperatures, which makes it extra strong and 100 percent impervious. Production of porcelain is craftsmanship at an industrial scale.

The process from quarts, feldspar, kaolin and water to beautiful porcelain is complicated, time consuming and demands considerable skills.

Each item is burnt two to four times at different temperatures. The porcelain will always have variations in shape and colours, and every wik & walsøe item is unique.
